Area Info
Ormond Beach is located in the east-central part of Florida, just 50 miles south of historic St. Augustine and 60 miles from both Orlando and the Kennedy Space Center. Ormond Beach is just north of Daytona Beach and is considered the quieter end of the World's Most Famous Beach.

Two of the earliest residents built a modest home here and rented rooms to travelers and other potential settlers and Ormond Beach's destiny as an ocean side retreat was born. Once the home of John D. Rockefeller, Ormond Beach quickly earned a reputation as a first-class resort town with an exceptional quality of life and this standard of living continues today. Rockefeller's former summer home, The Casements, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now a cultural center for the city.

Home to 37,000 residents, the town of Ormond Beach offers residents and visitors a peaceful, elegant setting with easy access to many of Florida's top theme parks and tourist hot spots. It's near just about everything in Central Florida and is bisected by the major arteries of I-95, which runs south to Miami, and I-4, which takes you west to Orlando, Disney World and on to Tampa.

Ormond Beach is considered part of the greater Daytona Beach Metro Area, and its location on the northern border of Daytona Beach provides plenty of excitement and a wealth of diversity. Ormond Beach's Leisure Services Department was named one of the top four in the country in 2002. Its near perfect climate and beautiful beach attracts people of all ages with year round outside venues and activities. Tourist, families, golfers and senior citizens alike are all drawn to Ormond Beach.
